When is the best time to sell?
This is a question that we are asked regularly here at Toop&Toop and the answer may surprise you.
Along with the many other considerations you’ll have to make when selling you property, the time in which your property goes to market is a very important one. We are often asked if local events, public holidays, holidays (Christmas and Easter for example) or even tax time have any effect on the market and if these times should be avoided when launching a property for sale. But, by far the most asked question in regard to selling is if the weather has an impact on the sale.

Local events, holidays and the weather may have an effect on the number of people through your open inspections for obvious reasons and your agent will talk you through strategies to counteract this. There is also the argument that property looks better in spring, compared to the middle of winter.
So, what is our response to these questions? Simply, it doesn’t matter! The best time to sell is when you are ready.
With over 34 years’ experience in the real estate industry, it is clear to us that if people genuinely want to buy property… they will. Numbers at open inspections and auctions may be down throughout certain parts of the year but those who are looking to buy won’t let a little rain or ‘Mad March’ get in their way.
