King William Road rides high again

Toop&Toop proudly took centre stage as the Unley Gourmet Gala and Santos Tour Down Under hit King William Road.

The business’s Hyde Park office again provided the venue for the Gourmet Gala’s VIP function, with around 200 guests in attendance.

The event also marked the 20th anniversary of the ever-popular Gala, which featured more than 30 gourmet food and wine stalls, as well as a number of entertainers and fashion parades.

The VIP function provided a perfect opportunity for Unley Mayor, Michael Hewitson AM, to launch the successful King William Road upgrade, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.

“We can’t wait for the new-look King William Road to be on the world stage when the eyes of the globe focus on the race location and the wonders of this precinct,” Mayor Hewitson said.

“We have delivered the vision of the people of the city.

“They wanted a cool, green street. They wanted a place to meet and greet, to dine and enjoy.

“We now have 18 flexible roadside dining spaces.

“It’s our 20th celebration. It's worth celebrating.”

The King William Road precinct was buzzing again the next morning for the start of the third stage of the Tour Down Under.
