Team News

Well Christmas holidays have been and gone, children are back at school and a new decade has begun.
At the Toop Xmas Party in December, everyone was asking ‘What will the market do in 2010?’ It’s a good question, but our crystal ball is no clearer than yours.

In 2009 it was important to adjust our sales approach to cater for the market’s sudden price sensitivity following the Global Financial Crisis at the end of 2008. Our objective was to out-perform the market for our clients and in October and November we were thrilled to achieve our second and third highest months ever! Overall for the year, 60+% of our sales were achieved over the asking price.

So on that basis we are confident that whatever twists the market provides in 2010, Team Veitch can deliver an excellent result for you.

Here are John Gordon from the Advertiser, Peter Veitch and Greg Troughton, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of South Australia sharing a drink at the Toop Xmas party.

You may not know that Simon and his wife Victoria are part of the “lycra brigade”.  They ride with Team Mittiga from the Norwood Cycle Club and can often be seen whizzing about the roads of Adelaide and the Hills.

In January they competed in the Alpine Classic; a 1 day, 200 kilometre event in the Victorian Alps. Unfortunately, a mechanical mishap stopped Simon at the 90km mark, but Victoria powered on to finish in 8 hours and be 35th of some 2,000 competitors. Here they are – same bend, same uniform, same picture of concentration!

In March the Real Estate Institute of Australia is combining its National Awards with a conference here in Adelaide for the very first time. The team will attend the conference and, as a past winner, Peter will attend the Awards dinner to support this year’s Toop&Toop finalists. The conference has some of Australia's best real estate and business speakers, so the team are looking forward to hearing new ideas to add to their repertoire.

Each year, Team Veitch actively supports causes that assist people in our community whose lives are impacted by specific difficulties. This quarter though, we are responding to the terrible tragedy of the earthquake in Haiti through Save The Children Australia. You can find out more about their work in Haiti at www.savethechildren.org.au
